What does "open box" mean?

Shelly PM Mini Gen3 is an ultra-compact WiFi energy meter, designed for monitoring the electricity consumption of a circuit without directly controlling the connected load. Unlike the relay versions, this device is dedicated exclusively to measurement, providing accurate real-time data on power and energy consumed.

Thanks to its small size, it fits easily into the electrical panel or behind a socket, making it ideal for anyone who wants to know exactly how much a household appliance, a lighting circuit or a dedicated socket consumes, without replacing the existing switch. It is equipped with a high-performance Shelly processor and 8MB of memory, ensuring fast and stable operation, including when running your own scripts.

It connects directly to the local WiFi network and can be controlled via the Shelly app, the web interface or integrations with Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Home Assistant, with no need for an additional hub. It is useful in projects monitoring consumption on individual circuits, for identifying energy-hungry appliances or for tracking production/consumption in more complex installations.

Note: this model has no built-in relay and cannot cut the power to the load; it is dedicated strictly to measurement. For control and measurement in the same device, you need a Shelly model with PM function and a relay.
