What does "open box" mean?

The Shelly Pro 3EM-3CT63 is a professional three-phase energy meter, DIN rail mountable, designed for integrators and installers who need accurate monitoring of electricity consumption in residential or commercial buildings. The device measures voltage, current, active and apparent power on each phase in real time, with class B accuracy according to IEC 62053-21.

It comes equipped with proprietary Shelly current transformers, capable of measuring up to 63A per phase, enough for most residential and small commercial three-phase installations. Data is stored locally in non-volatile memory for up to 60 days, at 1-minute intervals, and an internal real-time clock keeps records accurate even without a connection to an SNTP server.

It is useful for monitoring the total consumption of a home, tracking the production of a photovoltaic system or detailed analysis of consumption on each phase in a three-phase electrical panel. LAN, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, together with support for Modbus, MQTT, HTTP and WebSocket, make it suitable both for integration into smart home ecosystems and into SCADA or energy management systems.

Note: this model has no built-in relay and cannot cut the power supply; for contactor control, a separate Shelly Pro 3EM Switch Add-on module attached to the device is required.
