What does "open box" mean?

Open-box products are returned products with opened or damaged packaging, but fully checked from a technical point of view and completely functional. They come with the same warranty as new products.

Shelly Button Add-On Black is an accessory that turns a compatible Shelly relay (Gen1, Gen2/Plus, Mini, Gen3 or Gen4) into a surface-mounted switch, without the need for a flush-mounted wall box. The relay is mounted inside the housing, and the integrated physical button is connected directly to the relay's control input, so manual control works instantly, regardless of the state of the Wi-Fi network.

The solution is especially useful when a Shelly relay is going to power an appliance that does not have its own wall switch, such as a bedside lamp, an ambient light or a fan. The relay is mounted in the Button Add-On housing, which becomes the visible physical control point, mounted on the wall with adhesive tape or screws.

The push-in terminals accept conductors with a cross-section of 0.2 to 1.5 square mm, and the pre-installed 35 mm connection cables simplify wiring the relay mounted in the housing. The compact housing, measuring 63x84x28 mm, visually matches most traditional switches.

Attention: Button Add-On is a passive accessory and requires a compatible Shelly relay mounted in the housing (Gen1, Gen2, Gen3 or Gen4, depending on the model) in order to work; it does not contain its own communication module and cannot be used independently.
