What does "open box" mean?

Open-box products are returned products with opened or damaged packaging, but fully checked from a technical point of view and completely functional. They come with the same warranty as new products.

Shelly Bypass for Shelly 1L/2L Gen3 is a mandatory accessory in installations without a neutral wire that use low-power LED light fittings. Its role is to ensure a constant minimum load, needed to power the internal electronics of the Shelly relay, even when the lighting circuit is switched off.

Without this bypass, low-power LED bulbs may flicker slightly when off, or the Shelly relay may have power problems in installations without neutral, because the holding current required by the electronic circuit can no longer be drawn from the connected load. The bypass solves this problem by taking on that minimum load, regardless of the state of the circuit.

It is designed specifically for the third generation of the Shelly 1L (one channel) and 2L (two channels) models, no-neutral devices intended for older electrical installations where running an additional neutral wire is not possible or is expensive. It is mounted directly in the wall box, in parallel with the controlled lighting circuit.

Caution: installation must be carried out by qualified personnel, following the wiring diagram in the Shelly 1L/2L Gen3 manual; the bypass is recommended especially for LED light fittings under 10W.
