What does "open box" mean?

Open-box products are returned products with opened or damaged packaging, but fully checked from a technical point of view and completely functional. They come with the same warranty as new products.

Shelly Bypass for Dimmer Gen3 is an essential accessory in LED lighting installations without a neutral wire, providing the constant minimum load needed to power the internal electronics of the Shelly Dimmer Gen3, even when the lighting circuit is off or at minimum brightness.

Without this bypass, low-power LED light fittings can flicker when off or cause the dimmer to operate unstably in installations without a neutral, because the holding current required by the dimmer's electronic circuit cannot be drawn correctly through the connected load. The bypass solves this problem by taking up the necessary minimum load.

It is designed specifically for the Shelly Dimmer Gen3, a no-neutral device intended for older electrical installations where running an additional neutral wire is impossible or expensive. It is installed directly in the wall box, in parallel with the lighting circuit controlled by the dimmer.

Note: installation must be carried out by qualified personnel, following the wiring diagram in the Shelly Dimmer Gen3 manual; using the bypass is recommended for low-power LED light fittings.
