What does "open box" mean?

Open-box products are returned products with opened or damaged packaging, but fully checked from a technical point of view and completely functional. They come with the same warranty as new products.

Shelly EM Gen4 is a new-generation smart energy meter with multi-protocol connectivity - Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth, Zigbee and Matter - designed for precise monitoring of electricity consumption without interrupting the existing circuit. Measurement is contactless, via up to 2 current transformers (CT), with no need to cut or modify the electrical wiring.

The device stores at least 30 days of data locally at a resolution of 1 minute, thanks to its 16 MB flash memory, which allows detailed consumption analysis even without a permanent internet connection. A 50A clamp is included in the package, sufficient for most single-phase residential circuits. It has a dry contact for controlling an external load, for example a pump or a contactor.

It is useful for anyone who wants to track in detail the energy consumption of the home or of specific circuits - for example the heat pump, the electric water heater or a workshop - in order to identify waste and make informed decisions about energy efficiency. The data can be viewed remotely in the app, as long as the device is connected to a Wi-Fi network with internet access.

Warning: installation involves mounting in the electrical panel and must be carried out by a qualified person, with the power disconnected at the source. The local Wi-Fi network is required for remote control and notifications; Zigbee and Matter connectivity also allow direct integration into a compatible hub.
