Open box Shelly Presence Gen4 White – Smart Presence Sensor, mmWave Technology, Wi-Fi & Bluetooth, Light and Humidity Sensor

What does "open box" mean?

Open-box products are returned products with opened or damaged packaging, but fully checked from a technical point of view and completely functional. They come with the same warranty as new products.

The Shelly Presence Gen4 White is a smart presence sensor based on mmWave radar technology (60-64 GHz), capable of detecting people even when they are sitting still, unlike traditional infrared-based motion sensors, which need movement to trigger.

The sensor can identify up to 6 distinct people at the same time and supports up to 10 custom detection zones, covering an area of up to 42 m². The detection range is adjustable and can reach 5-7 metres, making it suitable for medium to large rooms, offices or shared spaces.

Multi-protocol connectivity includes WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5 LE and Zigbee 3.0, with Matter-over-WiFi support, offering maximum flexibility for integration into modern smart home ecosystems. The sensor also integrates light and humidity measurement, extending automation possibilities beyond simple presence detection.

Note: the device is powered via USB-C (5V DC) and is intended for indoor use, in rooms of up to 8x8m, with an optimal mounting height of 2m and a maximum room height of 5m.

Practical use cases

• Detects human presence in the room (not just movement), ideal for keeping the lights on when someone is sitting still at a desk or on the sofa.
• Can automatically switch on the heating or air conditioning only when the room is occupied, switching them off automatically when it becomes empty, to save energy.
• Useful in offices or children's rooms, where conventional motion sensors wrongly switch off the lights if a person stays still for too long.
• Can be integrated into security scenes, alerting you if presence is detected in an area where nobody should be.

Technical specifications

For reliable detection of human presence, including people who are sitting still, the Shelly Presence Gen4 White combines mmWave radar technology with full multi-protocol connectivity.
