What does "open box" mean?

Open-box products are returned products with opened or damaged packaging, but fully checked from a technical point of view and completely functional. They come with the same warranty as new products.

The Shelly BLU Gateway is a compact USB adapter that turns any USB-A port into a bridge between Shelly BLU Bluetooth devices and the Wi-Fi network or Shelly cloud services. In practice, it is the missing component for integrating the sensors and buttons of the BLU family into the Shelly Smart Control app or into platforms such as Home Assistant.

Once connected to a USB power source, the gateway automatically scans the surrounding Bluetooth network, identifies compatible BLU devices and makes them available for control and automations, using MQTT, WebSocket or other protocols compatible with existing automation systems.

It is needed in any installation that uses Shelly BLU sensors or buttons (door/window, motion, button, temperature and humidity) with no other Shelly Plus, Pro, Gen3 or Gen4 device nearby that could take on the gateway role. It is especially recommended for homes where all the installed devices are from the battery-powered BLU range.
