What does "open box" mean?

Open-box products are returned products with opened or damaged packaging, but fully checked from a technical point of view and completely functional. They come with the same warranty as new products.

Shelly Gas LPG is a smart WiFi sensor for detecting liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) leaks, certified for the safety of homes and spaces where LPG cylinders or installations are used. The sensor plugs directly into a socket, next to the gas source, and does not need a hub or other additional devices to work.

When a leak is detected, the device triggers a loud audible and visual alarm, together with an instant notification on your phone via the Shelly app, giving you precious reaction time before the situation becomes dangerous. The housing is flame-retardant, designed to withstand high-risk conditions.

It is recommended for kitchens with an LPG gas hob, LPG-fuelled boilers, caravans, cabins or commercial spaces such as restaurants that use gas cylinders. Simple mounting, by plugging directly into a socket, allows quick installation without complex electrical work.

Note: this model specifically detects liquefied petroleum gas (LPG); for methane/natural gas the dedicated Shelly Gas model for CNG is required, and the two types of sensor are not interchangeable.

Practical use cases

• Mounted in the kitchen next to the cooker or gas boiler, it detects gas leaks and sends an instant alert to your phone, even when you are not at home.
• It can be connected to a Shelly relay device to automatically close the gas solenoid valve when a leak is detected.
• Recommended for spaces with boilers or gas cylinders, as an additional safety measure alongside smoke sensors.
