Open box Smoke sensor/alarm Shelly Plus Smoke, Wireless, app control, compatible with Home Assistant, Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant

What does "open box" mean?

Open-box products are returned products with opened or damaged packaging, but fully checked from a technical point of view and completely functional. They come with the same warranty as new products.

Shelly Plus Smoke Alarm is a smart photoelectric smoke detector, effective at identifying smouldering fires that burn slowly for hours before bursting into open flames. Powered by a replaceable CR123A lithium battery, the device is completely wireless, with no mounting angle restrictions, which makes installation on any type of ceiling simple.

WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity allows integration into the smart home network and receiving notifications on your phone when smoke is detected, even when you are not at home. The audible alarm exceeds 85dB, loud enough to wake people from sleep or quickly alert the occupants of a home.

An LED flashes approximately every 53 seconds to confirm that the device is powered and working normally, and the same signalling interval is also used for the low battery warning. The hush mode function lets you temporarily silence the alarm with a simple press of a button, useful for false alarms caused by cooking smoke.

Note: although it has WiFi connectivity for notifications, the local audible alarm works independently and sounds regardless of the network connection status, providing basic protection even without internet.

Practical use cases

• Mounted on the ceiling in bedrooms, the living room or the hallway, it detects smoke at an early stage and sends an alert to your phone even when you are not at home.
• It can be integrated into an automation that automatically switches off electrical appliances in the event of an alarm.
• Useful in holiday homes or rented flats, where the owner can be notified of a danger even when not physically present.
• It works independently, with its own battery and local audible alarm, providing protection even during a power or internet outage.
