Description
Shelly EM Mini Gen4 is a very small energy meter that brings the flexibility of Gen3 firmware together with features specific to Shelly EM devices. It can work standalone on a local Wi-Fi network or be operated through cloud automation services, using MQTT, HTTP and WebSocket; all incoming connections support TLS.
The device is an improved version of the Shelly PM Mini Gen3, with a more advanced processor and Zigbee connectivity. The multi-protocol wireless microcontroller provides Zigbee and Bluetooth connectivity with a secure connection. The built-in web interface allows direct monitoring and configuration of the device. This item is the two-piece pack.
Key features
- Set of 2 Shelly EM Mini Gen4 metres in a single pack
- Ultra-compact format, for mounting in a wall box or in the electrical panel
- Single-phase energy metering
- Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Zigbee, via a multi-protocol wireless microcontroller
- MQTT, HTTP and WebSocket, with TLS on incoming connections
- Standalone operation on the local network, with no cloud dependency
- Built-in web interface for monitoring and configuration
- More powerful processor compared to the Shelly PM Mini Gen3
Practical use cases
- Separately metering two large circuits in a panel. One meter on the kitchen circuit and one on the air conditioning circuit show exactly where the bill goes, without changing the panel.
- Monitoring a rental apartment. One meter on the unit's main circuit and the second on the water heater, with remote reading, for fair cost allocation between tenants.
- Checking the output of a small photovoltaic installation. One meter on the house consumption and one on the inverter output, with the data aggregated in Home Assistant via local MQTT.
- Integrator delivering to two sites. The double pack covers two small job sites from a single purchase, and the local API allows them to be included in the same dispatch system.
