Aqara FP2 presence sensor

The Aqara FP2 Presence Sensor uses advanced millimeter-wave radar technology to accurately detect human presence, even with minimal movement. This technology ensures the continuity and stability of the smart device. It also features zone positioning, allowing automation for different conditions in specific areas, such as beds and tables. A space can now be divided into up to 30 small zones and can recognize up to five targets simultaneously (multi-person detection). It can also control other smart home devices through ecosystems like Apple Home for broader applications. The sensor includes features such as human fall detection and a built-in light sensor, making it a versatile tool that adapts to the diverse needs of the user’s home life and enables personalized automation.

Features:

• Zone Positioning: Offers significant advantages over traditional PIR motion sensors by using a single radar sensor to monitor rooms up to approximately 430 sq ft (about 40 m²)*. It can be divided into up to 30 zones, such as sofa, bed, or desk, with individual automation settings for each zone, functioning like multiple PIR motion sensors working simultaneously.

• Multi-Person Detection: Can detect up to 5** individuals simultaneously. This allows the sensor to respond automatically based on the position of different people without interference, even when the space is divided.

• Ultra-High Precision: Ensures privacy and detection accuracy by recognizing signals without collecting actual images. Most automations can be executed locally. The millimeter-wave radar technology is more stable than infrared sensor detection, even when seated or sleeping.

• Control Other Devices via HomeKit, etc.: FP2 is exposed as multiple sensors in HomeKit (and Home Assistant), Alexa, and Google Home. It can be easily integrated without needing a hub, making it an ideal solution for smart home enthusiasts looking to expand their setups.

• Fall Detection and Alerts*: When someone falls in a room, FP2 can detect it and send notifications. This feature operates privately and conveniently without the need for wearable devices or constant camera monitoring. It covers a circular area with a radius of 2 meters, with fall detection accuracy greater than 98%. The recommended installation height is 2.5 m-2.8 m.

• Built-In Light Sensor: Fully functional light detection sensor within the Aqara ecosystem. This enhances the flexibility and enjoyment of light automation. The built-in light sensor also enables advanced home automation based on ambient light conditions.

• Local Automation & Flexible Installation Methods: Once installed, the product runs locally, ensuring that FP2 automations will continue to operate as initially set even if the Wi-Fi network experiences occasional instability, thus better protecting your privacy. It offers multiple installation methods to adapt to various scenarios.

• IPX5 and Hidden USB-C Port: Thanks to its IP rating, the sensor can be installed in humid environments like bathrooms. It features an open USB-C port, allowing you to replace the included cable with any compatible USB-C cable, enhancing placement flexibility.
