Sonoff MINI R4M Wi-Fi smart relay, compatible with Matter

The new MINIR4M from Sonoff is a Wi-Fi smart mini switch compatible with the Matter standard, which turns traditional switches into smart switches. You can use it to remotely control and automate lights and electronic devices, and thanks to its small size (only 33 x 40 mm), it fits into various mounting boxes, including the smallest EU/type mounting boxes 86/type 120.

Sonoff MINI R4M, also called Sonoff Mini Extreme R4 Matter version, supports external switch control and easily connects to momentary switch, door output switch, SPDT switch, latch switch and even dry contact sensors , just like the previous version Sonoff Mini R2 or Product Version Mini R4.

As a new feature, the MINI R4M also has the "detach relay" mode, which means that the states of the external switches and the relay are separated, so that the operation of the external switch button will not affect the state of the relay. Even then, you can use the external switch to trigger a smart scene and operate another device, device group, or automation.

Mini R4M is the Matter compatible product version with Bluetooth pairing support. It can work with the eWeLink app (same as MINIR4 product version) or it can be connected to a Matter compatible local hub and work in your local home automation system without cloud connection. Thanks to the support of the Matter standard, it is compatible with Google Home, Alexa and Apple Home.

Note: MINI R4M (unlike MINI R4) DOES NOT support "eWeLink-Remote", a Sonoff proprietary Bluetooth protocol for local remote control, Bluetooth is only used in Matter version for app pairing.

Like all other eWeLink relay modules, it supports ON/OFF functions, power status (ON / OFF / LAST STATUS / REVERSE STATUS), smart scenes (automations) and inch functions (AUTO OFF and AUTO ON). Also, to protect the electrical network from overload, a start-up delay can be set after the power supply to the devices has been interrupted.

The new Sonoff Mini Extreme R4 module is 40% smaller than the MINI R2 and 60% smaller than the product version Mini R3.

Sonoff R4 Extreme supports voice control from Google Assistant (Google Home) and Amazon Alexa voice assistants.

The Sonoff R4 Wi-Fi Relay is compatible with Home Assistant, IFTTT (requires eWeLink Advanced subscription) and SmartThings system, as well as Apple Home.
